Don Valley East
Standing up for Don Valley East
Khalid grew up in the Don Valley and is well versed in issues that matter to residence of this riding.
Khalid is a community leader who believes in giving back to society and helping Ontarians of all ages live better lives. He is a graduate of Seneca College’s social service worker program and worked for the John Howard Society which provides for the effective integration into the community of those in conflict with the law.
During his time at Seneca Khalid was active as a volunteer on Seneca College’s Continuing Education Student Advisory group. Through his social work Khalid later became involved with local seniors’ associations where he focused working to help improve Canada’s pension system and fighting back against cuts to public health care.
Alongside Andrea Horwath, Khalid wants to fix the issues plaguing Ontario’s long-term and home care system, allowing all Ontarians to live in dignity and safety. Khalid currently works as a financial services advisor at TD Canada Trust and is excited to be getting married to his fiancé later this summer.
Khalid is a bridge-builder who continues to work hard to connect communities across age groups and ethnic backgrounds to work together on important issues like health care, affordable housing and public safety. Khalid is running in this election because he sees Andrea Horwath and the NDP as the only choice to bring change for the better to Ontario families.
Together with Andrea, the Ontario NDP will:
1) Provide drug and dental coverage for all Ontarians
2) Put an end to hallway medicine
3) Reduce hydro bills by 30%
Lets get good things done. It is time for a change in Don Valley East. Vote Khalid on June 7th.
